I have always been a fan of Nivea for their great range of skin care products and have used their ‘sensitive skin’ collection for my delicate skin for as long as I can remember. Now that I have heard of their ‘A Million Moments of Closeness’ campaign I am even more impressed with Nivea.
Nivea is marking their 100th birthday by celebrating and promoting ‘closeness’ in modern Britain. Nivea has enlisted the help of Psychologist, Professor Geoff Beattie to research the effects of closeness on individual’s health. Professor Beattie has found that being connected and close to loved ones, family, and friends provides boundless health benefits including better mental health, better physical health, a lower risk of cancer, and decreased stress levels. This finding comes as no surprise to me as my close relationships and friendships have greatly enriched and improved my quality of life and personal happiness.
To maximise on the benefits that closeness provides, Nivea is encouraging individuals to prioritize closeness in their own lives by embarking on the ‘A Million Moments of Closeness’ campaign. To take part in this positive and worthwhile project, you can display and express your closeness to the ones you love by uploading photos of yourself with family and friends onto Nivea’s Facebook page (http://facebook.com/niveauk).
Nivea is also hitting the road and travelling throughout the UK taking part in road shows where they are setting up photo booths where individuals can pick up free goodies and get a photo taken with their loved ones which are then automatically uploaded to their Facebook page. All photos from their Facebook pages will be entered into a competition with a chance to win a choice of prizes worth £100! Another way to participate in this campaign is to join in on the ‘Feel Closer’ debate about ‘Closeness in the 21st Century’ (facebook.com/niveauk). For example, is the technology age changing closeness in Britain? I personally believe that the advancements in technology have increased closeness in our society. As an avid user of social media and video chat I feel more connected to my family and friends than ever, even when we are far apart. What about you? What are your thoughts on closeness in our modern society? So go on, take part in the debate and upload some pictures! Let’s value and promote Closeness!
